Mostly Likely Draft Busts

1. Sean May (6'8'', PF, UNC, Jr.) - If anyone has bust written all over them it is May. He is an undersized unathletic PF with no jumpshot. May dominated in college by pure strength, he pushed people around to get where he needed to go. That isn't going to happen at the next level. May has a good feel for the game and could become a Corlis Williamson type in the NBA, but he does not rank among the top 30 players in this draft.

2. Hakim Warrick (6'8'', PF, Syracuse, Sr.) - Some people are so high on Warrick you would think he's the second coming of Tmac. I loved Warrick in college, but he gets by on athleticism alone. He is a classic tweener that doesn't have the size to cover PF's or the speed to cover SF's. Warrick is a freak level athlete who could become a Shawn Marion type if all goes right with him, but he has shown little more than the ability to dunk so far. He is a risk/reward player.

3. Martynas Andriuskevicius (7'3'', C, Lithuania) - I personally like Martynas a lot, but most of the big Euro centers turn out to be much ado about nothing. He has good skills for a player his size, but whether he has the body or the ability to play in the NBA is anyone's guess.

4. Randolph Morris (6'11'', C, Kentucky, Fresh.) - Mechanical center who did not live up to his hype his freshman year. Rumor out of Lexington is he has work ethic issues. Morris has good basketball IQ, but he seemed limited in college so his NBA future is cloudy to say the least.

5. Charlie Villanueva (6'11'', PF, UConn, Soph.) - Charlie has great skills for his size, but appears to be infected with Rasheed Wallace disease, causing him to completely disappear in games for no apparent reason. He has been a big tease his first 2 years at UConn. He has the size and skills to be a top 5 pick, he seems to be the only person who isn't aware he should be dominate.

6. Wayne Simien (6'8'', PF, Kansas, Sr.) - Simien appears to be the textbook definition of a good college player who will be no better than average in the NBA. His bust potential pretty much depends on how early he is draft. If he goes in the mid 1st round then some might be looking at a bust, if he goes early 2nd round where I project him it is a solid pick. Same goes for Rashad McCants and Dee Brown.

7. Chris Taft (6'10'', C, Pitt, Soph.) - Has the body and inside game to dominate at the NBA level, but lacks passion and aggressive play at times. If Taft goes to a team with solid leadership he should turn out well, if not he may have bust written all over him. I pray he isn't picked by the Knicks, if he is he will be playing in Belgium in no time.

8. Gerald Green (6'8'', SF, HS) - Green is this years high risk/reward player. He could very well become the best player of this draft or he could be the next Lenny Cooke, who is Lenny Cooke you ask...exactly. Green has the skills to be the next Tmac, but is far from a sure thing. He is worth the risk in my humble opinion.

9. Francisco Garcia (6'7'', SG, Louisville, Jr.) - Garcia brings a lot of skills to the table. He is long and lean with a solid jumper. Reminds me a bit of Tayshaun Prince. But many question Garcia's ability to stay out of foul trouble and perform in big games and against good defenders. Garcia hurt his draft stock with a subpar NCAA tourny. Deron Williams locked Garcia up completely when he covered him and he is 4 inches shorter. Garcia will need to work to become a good NBA player.

10. Deron Williams (6'3'', PG, Illinois, Jr.) - Deron is a top player in this draft, but he may also have more bust potential than any of the other lock lottery picks. Felton is a safer pick, but Deron has more upside. Foot speed ability to cover NBA level PG's is a question. He mostly covered SG's in college with Dee Brown covering the quicker PG's. He may need to be used like Eric Snow was in Philly, with an Iverson or Francis type PG.
