Morris and Rush Declare
Kentucky center Randolph Morris has declared for the draft, even after a subpar freshman season where he averaged a little over 8 points and 5 rebounds a game. Morris was one of the most highly sought after recruits last year and even though he struggled at times in his freshman season he will still likely go in the middle to late first round if he decides to stay in the draft. He would likely be a top 6 or 7 pick in next years draft though.
Prep star Brandon Rush becomes the 8th high school senior to declare for this years NBA draft. Rush is a top 10 prep player with great athleticism, but a few years of college would do him some good. He could play his way into the first round with some solid workouts, but right now I'd bet we see him in college next year.
Rush wasn't the only prep star making news this week. Monta Ellis, who declared for the draft last week has signed with an agent, thus killing any chance of going to college and proving that he is a moron. Ellis is a mid 2nd rounder right now with serious question marks to his game and attitude. Signing with an agent and giving himself no out was a huge mistake, and one that may cost him dearly. Just ask Lenny Cooke. This isn't a total loss, as fans in Europe may now get to watch Ellis play now for the next 10 years or so.
