NL MVP

Andruw Jones (Braves) - No player was more valuable to their team this year in the National League than Jones. He leads the league in homeruns and RBI's, as well as game winning RBI's. Add that another Gold Glove award and trip to the playoffs and no ones resume measures up.

Runners up: Albert Pujols (Cardinals), Derek Lee (Cubs).


AL MVP

David Ortiz (Red Sox) - The most feared batter in baseball (yes, that is counting Bonds). Ortiz is Mr. Clutch with mind boggling power numbers. Take him off the Red Soz and they are not even a .500 club, ARod can't make that claim.

Runners up: Alex Rodriquez (Yankees), Travis Hafner (Indians).


NL Cy Young

Chris Carpenter (Cardinals) - He isn't a sexy name like Clemens or Willis, but he has been the most dominate pitcher in the majors this year. Clemens might have a better ERA and Willis may have thrown a half dozen shutouts, but neither measures up to the dominance that Carpenter showed all year.

Runners up: Dontrelle Willis (Marlins), Roger Clemens (Astros).


AL Cy Young

Bartolo Colon (Angels) - The American League has no dominate pitching. So, while he isn't exactly Cy Young material in most years, Colon sneaks in because of his 21 wins.

Runners up: Mariano Rivera (Yankees), Cliff Lee (Indians).


NL Rookie of the Year

Ryan Howard (Phillies) - It seemed unfathomable a month ago that Jeff Francouer wouldn't win this in a cakewalk. Thanks to his great last month filled with loads of clutch hits he surpasses Francouer in a photo finish.

Runners up: Jeff Francouer (Braves), Zack Duke (Pirates).


AL Rookie of the Year

Houston Street (A's) - Street was one of the main reasons for the A's 2nd half surge. He is a good closer with electric stuff who was all but unhittable in the last few months.

Runners up: Robinson Cano (Yankees), Jonny Gomes (Devil Rays).


NL Manager of the Year

Bobby Cox (Braves) - Do I even need to explain why? Cox is quite simply the best coach in baseball. He won his 14th straight division title, all while 8 different rookies had at least 100 at bats. No team previous had made the plays with more than 5 rookies batting this much.

Runners up: Phil Garner (Astros), Tony LaRussa (Cardinals).


AL Manager of the Year

Joe Torre (Yankees) - No team went through more injuries and drama than the New York Yankees, and it is a testimate to Torre that they won the divison with a patchwork pitching staff of players like Wong, Chacon, and Small.

Runners up: Ozzie Guillen (White Sox), Ken Macca (A's).
